“Books by Mail”
Pigeon District Library offers a “Books by Mail” service, which is free to the residents of its legal service area - Chandler Township, McKinley Township, and Winsor Township. Residents, who may not have access to the library because of age, physical limitations, or transportation requirements, are able to enjoy books, magazines, and audio-books from the Pigeon District Library.
Any resident of Chandler Township, McKinley Township, or Winsor Township who is a registered library patron and has a valid Pigeon District Library card may use the service. Those people wishing to participate in the program, who do not have a library card, may register for one at the same time they sign-up for the “Books by Mail” service. A form may be requested by calling the Pigeon District Library at 453-2341.
All books (except non-circulating reference books), audio-books, and magazines owned by the Pigeon District Library, can be checked out through the “Books by Mail” program. The library’s growing collection includes large-print books, Westerns, mysteries, romances, best-sellers, biographies and other non-fiction books. Requests for specific titles, specific types of items (westerns, large-print, audio-books, mysteries, etc.) and/or books on specific topics can be made by program participants.
