Interlibrary Loan:
Pigeon District Library card holders, who are in
good standing, may request interloan items from other libraries. There is no
fee for interloan items requested through Val-Cat (our on-line catalog) or
through MeLCat (the statewide catalog). A $2.00/item shipping/handling fee will
be charged for interloan items that need to be requested from OCLC (outside of
Michigan). A late fee will be charged for any interloan item that is returned
past the due date. A replacement fee will be assessed for any interloan item
that is lost/not returned.”
Internet Access
Internet access available-Anyone
interested in using the library's computers to access the Internet must first
read and sign the library's Internet Use Policy. Minors are also required to
have a parent sign their internet use policy.

Services For The Visually Handicapped
*Star-Special Technologies
Alternative Resources (FREE library services for the residents of
St. Clair, Huron, Sanilac and Tuscola counties).
STAR provides cassette
players, disc players, recorded books and magazines, large print books, Braille
books and magazines, catalogs of recorded books, and described videos for people
who are legally blind, visually disabled, physically disabled and reading
disabled.
People wishing to apply may
call 1-800-272-8570, stop by the Pigeon District Library, or visit the STAR
website here.
*Aladdin Color Magnifier-Provided
by STAR, is located in the AV room for the public to use. It can be
used to view pictures, maps, books, and other print material. Please ask for
assistance at the Circulation Desk.
*MaxPort Magnification
Glasses-Provided by the White Pine Library Cooperative through a grant.
These glasses can be used at the library by patrons who have difficulty reading
book titles.
*Max-Provided by the
White Pine Library Cooperative through a grant. MAX can be checked out by
patrons. When connected to a TV set in the home, a MAX can be used to scan and
read printed material, which can be viewed on your TV screen.
*Mouse Cam-Provided
by the White Pine Library Cooperative through a grant. The Mouse Cam can be
checked out by patrons for use at home. When connected to a TV set. a Mouse Cam
enables a patron to read printed material which can be viewed on your TV screen, and to write letters, checks, etc.
