The Friends of the Pigeon District Library now has a 501(C)(3) non-profit status. The organization is comprised of individuals who are active, vocal advocates of the Pigeon District Library and who are committed to raising awareness of and an appreciation for the value of having a public library.

Our purpose is to support the library by:

-assisting in any manner possible

-helping display and maintain library materials

-helping provide additional materials and services not currently available

-promoting the use of the library

-pursuing fund raising activities

-recruiting volunteers

Officers of the Friends for 2006 are:
Colleen Forman, President;
Dan Suttkus, Vice President;
Kathy Kent, Secretary;
Carol Suttkus, Treasurer.

The Friends have worked on many fund-raising projects for the library including used book sales, tote bag sales, and ink jet cartridge recycling.

 The Friends of the Library meet the third Thursday of every third month, beginning with the August 2007 meeting, at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room.

Initial membership fee is $10.00 and the annual dues are $5.00 per year for all persons.
