General meeting Minutes
February 17th, 2007
I. Call to Order by Colleen Forman Date: February 17, 2007, 9:30 A.M.
II. Attendance: Colleen Forman, Jeanette Bach, Jane Himmel, Mary Dast, and Kathy Kent
III. Reading of the Minutes by: All present.

- Treasurer:
· January/February beginning balance is $1,233.22. Expenses totaled $35.61. Deposits totaled $242.25. Ending balance as of 2/17/07 was $1,439.86.

VI. Special Reports: None to report.
VII. Old Business:
· Valentine's Day cookie sale All 80 bags of cookies were sold on 2/13/2007. The group discussed pre-orders for the next cookie sale which will coincide with the Easter Holiday.
· March Community Day Event booklet sales update Colleen Forman reported booklet sales to Younkers. The booklet sale deadline was extended to February 26th.
· Hobby and Craft Show Wording of the show announcement was discussed. Jane Himmel will send these announcements out as postcards to potential participants by the end of February.
· Scholastic Book Fair The book fair has been scheduled for May 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th. Sales of $1,500.00 or more will earn the library 40% of sales in books. Also discussed was a "Library Wish List Fund" in which book fair patrons can contribute $1.00 toward a list of Scholastic materials for the library.
· Thumb Arts Guild Spring Exhibit Jane Himmel will speak to the Arts Guild regarding the upcoming exhibit in May.
VIII. New Business:
· Membership dues are needed by the March General Meeting. Kathy Kent will send an e-mail reminder to all members and will include the Friends' address in the message.
IX. Announcements:
· Jeanette Bach announced that the inkjet recycling program is going well.
· Jane Himmel announced that copy paper boxes (with lids) are needed for used book storage.
· Jane also mentioned that a community service volunteer helped her to organize and store most of the Friends' used books. Kathy Kent would like to express her thanks for this service.
