· Hobby and Craft Show Jane Himmel has received responses from nine vendors, and one person to display only. She has one greeter committed to work thus far.
· Membership dues Barb Main paid her dues, bringing the number of members that have paid their dues to seven. Kathy Kent will send out an e-mail reminder to all members that have not yet paid their 2007 dues. After the April meeting those that have not paid their dues will be dropped from the membership roles, and if they wish to join again they will have to pay the $10 initial dues.
· Thumb Arts Guild Spring Exhibit Jane Himmel spoke to Bill Diller and the Thumb Arts Guild will be holding a meeting on April 10th regarding their Spring Art Exhibit.
VIII. New Business:
· Membership dues for the Michigan Friends of Libraries are due. The Friends discussed the benefit of continuing membership with this Group, as we have never received any information or support from them. However, the By-Laws dictate that membership is necessary, so we will renew our membership.
· Carol Suttkus suggested that the Friends consider activities to increase membership and participation. It was discussed that a change in meeting time and schedule might make membership more attractive. The Constitution dictates that general meetings be held quarterly, with committees meetings as needed. It was agreed that this subject would be included as a topic of New Business on the April meeting agenda.
· The library is investigating the possibility of hosting a visiting author, Jonathan Rand, author of the Michigan Chillers series, for a family program this year. The author has a substantial honorarium, so sponsorship was discussed, as well as sponsorship levels. The group has formed a Committee to examine the interest of local businesses and individuals in sponsoring the event. Jane Himmel will lead the Committee and will contact the author for dates of availability.
IX. Announcements:
· Jeanette Bach announced that the inkjet recycling program continues to be a great benefit for the library.
