Friends of the Pigeon District Library

The Friends of the Pigeon District Library is a  501(C)(3) non-profit organization. The organization is comprised of individuals who are active, vocal advocates of the Pigeon District Library and who are committed to raising awareness of and an appreciation for the value of having a public library.

The Friends have worked on many fund-raising projects for the library,

including used book sales, tote bag sales, and ink jet cartridge recycling.

Please join us at our next meeting. The Friends of the

Library normally meet quarterly, on the third Thursday

of February, May,  August, and November at 5:00 PM in

the Community Room or Reference Room of the library.

The purpose of the Friends is to support the library by:
- Helping display and maintain library materials,
- Helping provide additional materials and services not currently available,
- Promoting the use of the library,
- Pursuing fundraising activities,
- Recruiting volunteers.

We urge you to consider becoming a Friend of the Pigeon District Library. The Friends organization is a valuable asset to your library, and more friends are needed now!

Your time and talents will help provide support and manpower for programs already in place, and for programs that will enrich and extend the library's service to area residents and visitors to the library.

FOPDL Members Receive:

- Invitations to special events and programs,

- Early admittance to the annual book sale,

- Library card and membership free of charge for members outside of the service area,

- Great satisfaction!

There is no cost to join the FOPDL. We need "Friends" to help with book sales, fundraisers, and other library events. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the FOPDL or volunteering to help with library events, pick up a form at the library today!

For more information, call Ruth Kumaus at 734-730-0129, or come to our next quarterly meeting. We appreciate your support!
